Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC) fans were thrilled Tuesday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the visiting West Brunswick Trojans (Shallotte, NC), 9-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Buccaneers face the New Hanover Wildcats (Wilmington, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge, on Friday, April 12. Laney will attempt to better on its 7-1 season record. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a 1-6 record after their 9-0 league loss to Ashley (Wilmington, NC).

The Trojans now have a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cape Fear Academy for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 10. West Brunswick will face a Hurricanes team coming off a 7-0 league win over Wayne Country Day (Goldsboro, NC). The Hurricanes record now stands at 8-1.
