Pinckneyville Panthers (Pinckneyville, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Benton Rangers (Benton, IL), 8-2 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 11-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Frankfort for a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Mississippi challenge on Friday, April 12. Pinckneyville will face a Redbirds squad coming off a 10-9 non-league win over Harrisburg (Harrisburg, IL). The Redbirds record now stands at 9-6.

With the loss, Benton falls to 4-12 on the campaign. The Rangers travel to DuQuoin (DuQuoin, IL) to face the Indians in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Mississippi challenge on Friday, April 12. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 7-10.
