New Ulm Eagles (New Ulm, MN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Fairmont Cardinals (Fairmont, MN), 13-0 in a league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they host Mankato West for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 11. New Ulm will face a Scarlets squad coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Faribault (Faribault, MN). The Scarlets record now stands at 2-0.

With the loss, Fairmont falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Blue Earth (Blue Earth, MN) to face the Buccaneers in a South Central challenge on Thursday, April 11. The Buccaneers enter the challenge with a record of 2-1. Blue Earth lost 6-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Maple River (Mapleton, MN)
