Robert C. Byrd Eagles (Clarksburg, WV) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Grafton Bearcats (Grafton, WV), 6-5 in a league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 9-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Preston for a Big Ten challenge on Thursday, April 11. Robert C. Byrd will battle a Knights squad coming off a 8-7 league loss to Lincoln (Shinnston, WV). The Knights record now stands at 2-6.

With the loss, Grafton falls to 4-6 on the campaign. The Bearcats host Bridgeport (Bridgeport, WV) to battle the Indians in a Big Ten challenge on Wednesday, April 10. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 2-7. Bridgeport lost 16-7 in their recent league challenge against Buckhannon-Upshur (Buckhannon, WV)
