Spectators at Tuesday's league match between the La Salle Academy Rams (Providence, RI) and the visiting Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI), witnessed La Salle Academy's softball squad tip Smithfield by a count of 8-2.

The Rams now sport a 5-0 record. They play next when they travel to East Providence for a Division 1 (State) match on Thursday, April 11. La Salle Academy will face a Townies squad coming off a 12-0 league loss to Pilgrim (Warwick, RI). The Townies record now stands at 0-3.

With the loss, Smithfield moves to 1-2 on the season. The Sentinels host Prout (Wakefield, RI) to face the Crusaders in a Division 1 (State) match on Thursday, April 11. The Crusaders go into the match with a record of 2-0. Prout won 2-0 in their recent league match against Chariho (Wood River Junction, RI)
