The Manteno Panthers (Manteno, IL) softball nipped the visiting Reed-Custer Comets (Braidwood, IL), 10-9 in Tuesday's league bout.
The Panthers (12-0) will now prepare for their bout against Homewood-Flossmoor (Flossmoor, IL). The Vikings go into the non-league bout with a 4-5 record. In their last bout, Homewood-Flossmoor was edged by Bradley-Bourbonnais (Bradley, IL), 12-2, in a league bout.
The Comets now possess a 7-3 record. They play next when they host Woodland for a non-league bout on Wednesday, April 10. Reed-Custer will confront a Warriors squad coming off a 5-1 league win over Putnam County (Granville, IL). The Warriors record now stands at 6-3.
