Needles Mustangs (Needles, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets (Blythe, CA), 6-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 14-4 record. They take the field next when they host Lake Mead Academy for a 2A- Southern challenge on Friday, April 12. Needles will face a Eagles squad coming off a 12-1 league loss to Lincoln County (Panaca, NV). The Eagles record now stands at 7-4.

With the loss, Palo Verde Valley falls to 6-10 on the campaign. The Yellow jackets travel to Central (El Centro, CA) to face the Spartans in a Desert challenge on Friday, April 12. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 2-10. Central lost 7-1 in their recent league challenge against Holtville (Holtville, CA)
