The Salem Greyhounds routed the host Newport Greyhounds softball squad by a count of 8-1 in Tuesday's league battle.

The Greyhounds (10-0) will now prepare for their battle against Hoxie (Hoxie, AR). The Mustangs go into the 3A Region 2 battle with a 1-9 record.

The Greyhounds now sport a 3-11 record. They play next when they travel to Walnut Ridge for a 3A Region 2 battle on Thursday, April 11.
