The Monroe Golden Tornadoes baseball team scored 29 runs and held the visiting Calhoun County Cougars to 1 in the Golden Tornadoes non-league win on Wednesday.

The Golden Tornadoes now hold a 7-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Westover for a AAA Region 1 test on Thursday, April 10. Monroe will play a Patriots team coming off a 18-6 league loss to Bainbridge (Bainbridge, GA). The Patriots record now stands at 0-14.

With the defeat, Calhoun County drops to 0-5 on the year. The Cougars travel to Southwest Georgia STEM Charter (Shellman, GA) to play the Aggies in a non-league test on Thursday, April 10. The Aggies go into the test with a record of 4-11.
