The Patriots now hold a 8-4 record. They play next when they travel to NCSSM: Morganton for a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge on Tuesday, April 22. Madison will encounter a Dragons squad coming off a 3-2 league win over Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Dragons record now stands at 10-2.

With the loss, Draughn moves to 1-11 on the year. The Wildcats host Mitchell (Bakersville, NC) to encounter the Mountaineers in a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge on Thursday, April 10. The Mountaineers go into the challenge with a record of 0-10. Mitchell lost 9-0 in their recent league challenge against Owen (Black Mountain, NC)
