The Hazleton Area Cougars softball team scored 8 runs and limited the host Dallas Mountaineers to 6 in the Cougars league triumph on Sunday.

With the triumph, Hazleton Area moves its record to 5-5 on the year. The Cougars travel to Wyoming Valley West (Plymouth, PA) to clash with the Spartans in a Wyoming Valley 1 game on Monday, May 2. The Spartans come into the game with a record of 2-7. Wyoming Valley West lost 2-1 in their recent non-league game against Northwest Area (Shickshinny, PA)

In their next game, the Mountaineers clash with the Berwick Bulldogs (Berwick, PA) in a Wyoming Valley 1 game, on Monday, May 2. Dallas will attempt to move on its 4-5 season record. The Bulldogs come into the game with a 4-9 record after their 6-3 non-league loss to Minersville (Minersville, PA).
