Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Charlottesville Black Knights (Charlottesville, VA), 18-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Lancers now own a 12-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Glass for a Seminole challenge on Tuesday, May 2. Amherst County will battle a Hilltoppers squad coming off a 9-3 non-league loss to Western Albemarle (Crozet, VA). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 2-6.

With the loss, Charlottesville falls to 0-13 on the campaign. The Black knights host Western Albemarle (Crozet, VA) to battle the Warriors in a Jefferson challenge on Tuesday, May 2. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 9-5. Western Albemarle won 9-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Glass (Lynchburg, VA)
