Waterloo Bulldogs (Waterloo, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Civic Memorial Eagles (Bethalto, IL), 8-6 in a league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 8-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Highland for a Mississippi Valley challenge on Wednesday, May 3. Waterloo will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 6-5 league loss to Triad (Troy, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 14-6.

With the loss, Civic Memorial falls to 11-8 on the campaign. The Eagles host Mascoutah (Mascoutah, IL) to battle the Indians in a Mississippi Valley challenge on Wednesday, May 3. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 5-14. Mascoutah won 13-5 in their recent league challenge against Jersey (Jerseyville, IL)
