Dakota Cougars (Macomb, MI) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Grosse Pointe North Norsemen (Grosse Pointe, MI), 9-1 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now sport a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Romeo for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 2. Dakota will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 12-10 league loss to L'Anse Creuse North (Macomb, MI). The Bulldogs record now stands at 4-3.

With the loss, Grosse Pointe North falls to 6-2 on the campaign. The Norsemen host Utica Eisenhower (Shelby Township, MI) to face the Eagles in a Macomb Area - Red challenge on Thursday, May 4. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 1-8. Utica Eisenhower lost 19-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Fraser (Fraser, MI)
