Spectators at Monday's non-league match between the Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA) and the visiting Narrows Green Waves (Narrows, VA), witnessed Giles's softball squad tip Narrows by a count of 12-5.

The Spartans now sport a 1-11 record. They play next when they travel to Auburn for a Mountain Empire match on Tuesday, May 2. Giles will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Grayson County (Independence, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 14-1.

With the loss, Narrows moves to 0-12 on the season. The Green waves host Craig County (New Castle, VA) to meet the Rockets in a Pioneer match on Wednesday, May 10. The Rockets go into the match with a record of 5-5.
