Spectators at Wednesday's league battle between the Valley Vikings (New Kensington, PA) and the host Derry Trojans (Derry, PA), saw Valley's baseball squad knock off Derry by a count of 9-6.

Coming up next, the Vikings play the Jeannette Jayhawks (Jeannette, PA) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, May 2. Valley will attempt to move on its 12-4 season record. The Jayhawks enter the battle with a 6-7 record after their 17-0 league loss to Riverview (Oakmont, PA).

The Trojans now possess a 5-9 record. They take the field next when they host Shady Side Academy for a WPIAL 3A 3 battle on Monday, May 6. Derry will play a Bulldogs squad coming off a 5-1 non-league loss to Knoch (Saxonburg, PA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 10-8.
