Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM), 7-5 in a league test.

With the win, Thoreau upgrades its record to 2-19 on the season.

With the defeat, Wingate falls to 5-14 on the season. The Bears travel to Bosque (Albuquerque, NM) to battle the Bobcats in a non-league test on Friday, May 3. The Bobcats come into the test with a record of 9-10. Bosque won 20-6 in their recent non-league test against Laguna Acoma (New Laguna, NM)
