Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC) fans were thrilled Wednesday as they observed their soccer team knock off the visiting East Lincoln Mustangs (Denver, NC), 2-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Red Tornadoes confront the Statesville Greyhounds (Statesville, NC) in a Western Foothills 3A challenge, on Friday, May 3. Hickory will attempt to better on its 16-3 season record. The Greyhounds enter the challenge with a 0-13 record after their 7-0 league loss to St. Stephens (Hickory, NC).

The Mustangs now have a 13-2 record. They take the field next when they host West Iredell for a Western Foothills 3A challenge on Friday, May 3. East Lincoln will confront a Warriors team coming off a 1-0 league loss to North Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 4-11.
