The New Bern Bears nudged the host West Carteret Patriots baseball team by a tally of 9-8 in Wednesday's non-league bout.

The Bears now hold a 14-7 record. They take the field next when they host Havelock for a non-league bout on Thursday, May 2. New Bern will face a Rams team coming off a 10-0 non-league loss to J.H. Rose (Greenville, NC). The Rams record now stands at 6-10.

Next, the Patriots face the Richlands Wildcats (Richlands, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, May 3. West Carteret will attempt to advance on its 10-7 season record. The Wildcats enter the bout with a 10-4 record after their 12-10 non-league loss to Swansboro (Swansboro, NC).
