Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Salem Spartans (Salem, VA), 18-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Lancers now sport a 15-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Brookville for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 7.

With the loss, Salem falls to 3-10 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Christiansburg (Christiansburg, VA) to face the Blue Demons in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 3. The Blue Demons enter the challenge with a record of 8-5. Christiansburg lost 6-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Cave Spring (Roanoke, VA)
