West Greene Pioneers (Waynesburg, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host California Trojans (Coal Center, PA), 16-2 in a league challenge.

The Pioneers now own a 9-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Avella for a WPIAL 1A 2 challenge on Monday, May 6. West Greene will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 4-0 non-league win over Burgettstown (Burgettstown, PA). The Eagles record now stands at 6-12.

With the loss, California falls to 1-14 on the campaign.
