The crowd at Wednesday's league match between the Gallia Academy Blue Devils (Gallipolis, OH) and the visiting Chesapeake Panthers (Chesapeake, OH), saw Gallia Academy's softball squad nip Chesapeake by a count of 9-3.

The Blue Devils now sport a 3-11 record. They take the field next when they host Portsmouth for a Ohio Valley match on Thursday, May 2. Gallia Academy will face a Trojans squad coming off a 4-3 league loss to Rock Hill (Ironton, OH). The Trojans record now stands at 5-13.

With the loss, Chesapeake falls to 5-16 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Fairland (Proctorville, OH) to face the Dragons in a Ohio Valley match on Friday, May 3. The Dragons enter the match with a record of 14-5. Fairland lost 3-2 in their recent league match against Dawson-Bryant (Coal Grove, OH)
