The Downers Grove South Mustangs softball team scored 16 runs and limited the visiting Proviso East Pirates to 2 in the Mustangs league triumph on Wednesday.

With the triumph, Downers Grove South moves its record to 15-4 on the year. The Mustangs host Providence Catholic (New Lenox, IL) to clash with the Celtics in a non-league game on Thursday, May 2. The Celtics come into the game with a record of 15-5. Providence Catholic lost 6-2 in their recent league game against Resurrection (Chicago, IL)

In their next game, the Pirates clash with the Berwyn/Cicero Morton Mustangs (Cicero, IL) in a West Suburban - Gold game, on Thursday, May 2. Proviso East will attempt to move on its 1-9 season record. The Mustangs come into the game with a 3-9 record after their 3-0 league loss to Willowbrook (Villa Park, IL).
