Edison Wildcats (Richmond, OH) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Toronto Red Knights (Toronto, OH), 5-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now sport a 17-2 record. They take the field next when they host Claymont for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 3. Edison will face a Mustangs squad coming off a 14-7 league loss to Indian Valley (Gnadenhutten, OH). The Mustangs record now stands at 5-4.

With the loss, Toronto falls to 8-10 on the campaign. The Red knights travel to Shadyside (Shadyside, OH) to face the Tigers in a Ohio Valley Athletic AA challenge on Saturday, May 4. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 13-9. Shadyside won 7-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Bellaire (Bellaire, OH)
