Ledyard Colonels (Ledyard, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Wheeler Lions (North Stonington, CT), 8-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Colonels now own a 9-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Montville for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 3. Ledyard will battle a Wolves squad coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Bacon Academy (Colchester, CT). The Wolves record now stands at 7-5.

With the loss, Wheeler falls to 6-3 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Bacon Academy (Colchester, CT) to battle the Bobcats in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 4. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a record of 6-4.
