Spectators at Wednesday's league match between the Ponaganset Chieftains (North Scituate, RI) and the visiting Middletown Islanders (Middletown, RI), witnessed Ponaganset's softball squad prevail over Middletown by a count of 14-1.

The Chieftains now sport a 9-1 record. They play next when they travel to Scituate for a Division 2 match on Monday, May 6. Ponaganset will face a Spartans squad coming off a 7-2 league loss to Lincoln (Lincoln, RI). The Spartans record now stands at 4-3.

With the loss, Middletown moves to 0-9 on the season. The Islanders host Red Lion Christian Academy (Bear, DE) to face the Lions in a non-league match on Thursday, May 2. The Lions go into the match with a record of 0-6.
