Summit Hilltoppers (Summit, NJ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Scotch Plains-Fanwood Raiders (Scotch Plains, NJ), 7-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Hilltoppers now own a 8-8 record. They take the field next when they host Metuchen for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 4. Summit will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to South Plainfield (South Plainfield, NJ). The Bulldogs record now stands at 6-7.

With the loss, Scotch Plains-Fanwood falls to 9-5 on the campaign. The Raiders host Union Catholic (Scotch Plains, NJ) to battle the Vikings in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 3.
