The crowd at Wednesday's league match between the West Side Roughriders (Newark, NJ) and the visiting Shabazz Bulldogs (Newark, NJ), saw West Side's softball squad nip Shabazz by a count of 24-23.

The Roughriders now sport a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Golda Och Academy for a SEC - Freedom match on Thursday, May 2.

With the loss, Shabazz falls to 0-9 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Eastside (Paterson, NJ) to face the Ghosts in a non-league match on Friday, May 3. The Ghosts enter the match with a record of 1-12. Eastside lost 15-0 in their recent non-league match against Hackensack (Hackensack, NJ)
