Union Catholic Vikings (Scotch Plains, NJ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Union Farmers (Union, NJ), 11-10 in a non-league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 6-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Scotch Plains-Fanwood for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 3. Union Catholic will battle a Raiders squad coming off a 7-2 non-league loss to Summit (Summit, NJ). The Raiders record now stands at 9-5.

With the loss, Union falls to 2-12 on the campaign. The Farmers host Brearley (Kenilworth, NJ) to battle the Bears in a UCC - Mountain challenge on Thursday, May 2. The Bears enter the challenge with a record of 9-7. Brearley won 10-3 in their recent league challenge against Summit (Summit, NJ)
