The Taft Wildcats baseball team scored 18 runs and held the visiting McFarland Cougars to 1 in the Wildcats league win on Thursday.

The Wildcats now own a 9-13 record. They take the field next when they host Delano for a South Sequoia test on Tuesday, May 6. Taft will clash with a Tigers team coming off a 7-0 league loss to Shafter (Shafter, CA). The Tigers record now stands at 7-15.

With the defeat, McFarland drops to 7-13 on the year. The Cougars host South (Bakersfield, CA) to clash with the Spartans in a non-league test on Monday, May 5. The Spartans go into the test with a record of 17-7. South won 6-5 in their recent league test against North (Bakersfield, CA)
