In Thursday's league outing, the visiting George Washington Eagles soccer squad scored a tight 2-1 victory over the Martinsville Bulldogs.

The Eagles (5-5) will now prepare for their outing against Halifax County (South Boston, VA). The Comets go into the Piedmont outing with a 7-6 record. In their last outing, Halifax County was edged by Mecklenburg County (Baskerville, VA), 1-0, in a league outing.

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Bassett Bengals (Bassett, VA) in a Piedmont outing, on Tuesday, May 6. Martinsville will attempt to improve on its 2-6 season record. The Bengals enter the battle with a 5-6 record after their 2-1 league loss to Magna Vista (Ridgeway, VA).
