The Altoona Railroaders triumphed over the host St. Croix Central Panthers softball squad by a count of 8-0 in Thursday's league challenge.

Next, the Railroaders play the Somerset Spartans (Somerset, WI) in a Middle Border challenge, on Monday, May 5. Altoona will attempt to upgrade on its 10-5 season record.

The Panthers (2-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Amery (Amery, WI). The Warriors enter the Middle Border challenge with a 2-11 record. In their last challenge, Amery was routed by Prescott (Prescott, WI), 15-0, in a league challenge.
