Amelia County Raiders (Amelia Court House, VA) backers left the game pleased Thursday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Nottoway Cougars (Nottoway, VA), 3-2 in a league game.

With the triumph, Amelia County upgrades its record to 4-4 on the year. The Raiders host Goochland (Goochland, VA) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league game on Monday, May 5. The Bulldogs enter the game with a record of 7-6. Goochland lost 11-0 in their recent league game against Monticello (Charlottesville, VA)

The Cougars now own a 11-5 record. They play next when they host Cumberland for a James River game on Tuesday, May 6. Nottoway will play a Dukes squad coming off a 10-5 league loss to Randolph-Henry (Charlotte Court House, VA). The Dukes record now stands at 2-8.
