The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA) and the host Broadway Gobblers (Broadway, VA), observed Amherst County's softball team get by Broadway by a tally of 10-3.

The Lancers (8-5) will now prepare for their bout against Buckingham (Buckingham, VA). The Knights go into the non-league bout with a 7-3 record. In their last bout, Buckingham tipped Lunenburg Central (Victoria, VA), 6-5, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Gobblers clash with the William Monroe Dragons (Stanardsville, VA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, May 5. Broadway will attempt to advance on its 9-2 season record.
