The Branford Hornets overwhelmed the visiting Hamden Green Dragons softball squad by a count of 16-2 in Thursday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Hornets meet the Shelton Gaels (Shelton, CT) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, May 5. Branford will attempt to upgrade on its 4-8 season record. The Gaels go into the challenge with a 9-3 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Hand (Madison, CT).
The Green Dragons (2-9) will now prepare for their challenge against East Haven (East Haven, CT). The Yellowjackets go into the Southern Connecticut - Oronoque challenge with a 6-5 record. In their last challenge, East Haven was routed by Lyman Hall (Wallingford, CT), 2-1, in a league challenge.
