The Glenvar Highlanders (Salem, VA) softball nipped the host Carroll County Cavaliers (Hillsville, VA), 4-3 in Thursday's league outing.

The Highlanders now sport a 9-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Liberty for a non-league outing on Monday, May 5. Glenvar will encounter a Minutemen team coming off a 10-5 league loss to Brookville (Lynchburg, VA). The Minutemen record now stands at 4-9.

With the loss, Carroll County moves to 5-10 on the season. The Cavaliers travel to James River (Buchanan, VA) to encounter the Knights in a Three Rivers outing on Tuesday, May 6. The Knights come into the outing with a record of 9-4. James River won 17-5 in their recent non-league outing against Waynesboro (Waynesboro, VA)
