The crowd at Thursday's league bout between the Derry Trojans (Derry, PA) and the visiting Highlands Golden Rams (Natrona Heights, PA), observed Derry's softball team get by Highlands by a tally of 8-3.

The Trojans (10-3) will now prepare for their bout against Greensburg Salem (Greensburg, PA). The Golden Lions go into the WPIAL 4A 1 bout with a 9-5 record. In their last bout, Greensburg Salem was routed by Knoch (Saxonburg, PA), 11-1, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Golden Rams clash with the Apollo Ridge Vikings (Spring Church, PA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, May 8. Highlands will attempt to advance on its 7-9 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 10-3 record after their 13-2 league loss to South Allegheny (McKeesport, PA).
