The James River Knights triumphed over the host Waynesboro Little Giants softball squad by a count of 17-5 in Thursday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Knights meet the Carroll County Cavaliers (Hillsville, VA) in a Three Rivers challenge, on Tuesday, May 6. James River will attempt to upgrade on its 9-4 season record. The Cavaliers enter the challenge with a 5-10 record after their 4-3 league loss to Glenvar (Salem, VA).

The Little Giants (0-12) will now prepare for their challenge against Charlottesville (Charlottesville, VA). The Black Knights enter the non-league challenge with a 1-9 record. In their last challenge, Charlottesville was routed by Orange County (Orange, VA), 14-0, in a league challenge.
