In Thursday's league match, the host Paintsville Tigers softball team scored a nice 9-0 win over the Martin County Cardinals.

The Tigers (8-12) will now prepare for their match against Floyd Central (Eastern, KY). The Jaguars come into the non-league match with a 11-7 record. In their last match, Floyd Central notched a victory over Elliott County (Sandy Hook, KY), 3-1, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Cardinals confront the Johnson Central Golden Eagles (Paintsville, KY) in a District 57 match, on Monday, May 5. Martin County will attempt to better on its 8-9 season record. The Golden Eagles come into the match with a 16-9 record after their 7-1 non-league win over Lawrence County (Louisa, KY).
