The crowd at Thursday's league bout between the Union Bears (Big Stone Gap, VA) and the visiting Ridgeview Wolfpack (Clintwood, VA), observed Union's softball team get by Ridgeview by a tally of 1-0.

The Bears (7-9) will now prepare for their bout against Central Wise (Norton, VA). The Warriors go into the Mountain 7 bout with a 8-5 record. In their last bout, Central Wise was nipped by Lee (Jonesville, VA), 11-3, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Wolfpack clash with the Abingdon Falcons (Abingdon, VA) in a Mountain 7 bout, on Friday, May 9. Ridgeview will attempt to advance on its 4-7 season record. The Falcons go into the bout with a 18-3 record after their 13-3 non-league win over Christiansburg (Christiansburg, VA).
