California High School Baseball - Gilroy defeats Prospect

May 1, 2026: Gilroy, CA 95020

In Friday's league game, the host Gilroy Mustangs baseball team scored a close 7-1 victory over the Prospect Panthers.

The Mustangs (12-8) will now prepare for their game against Evergreen Valley (San Jose, CA). The Cougars enter the Santa Teresa game with a 11-11 record. In their last game, Evergreen Valley held off Wilcox (Santa Clara, CA), 4-0, in a non-league game.

Next, the Panthers face the Monta Vista Matadors (Cupertino, CA) in a non-league game, on Saturday, May 2. Prospect will attempt to improve on its 9-14 season record. The Matadors enter the game with a 15-6 record after their 7-1 league loss to Milpitas (Milpitas, CA).
