Shade Panthers (Cairnbrook, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers (Berlin, PA), 22-16 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 11-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Windber for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 11. Shade will face a Ramblers squad coming off a 4-3 league loss to Portage (Portage, PA). The Ramblers record now stands at 9-5.

With the loss, Berlin Brothersvalley falls to 2-9 on the campaign. The Mountaineers travel to Bishop Walsh (Cumberland, MD) to face the Spartans in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 11. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 6-4. Bishop Walsh lost 3-2 in their recent non-league challenge against St. James (Hagerstown, MD)
