Menchville Monarchs (Newport News, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Bethel Bruins (Hampton, VA), 12-2 in a league challenge.

The Monarchs now own a 14-2 record. They take the field next when they host Denbigh for a Peninsula challenge on Wednesday, May 11. Menchville will battle a Patriots squad coming off a 20-0 league loss to Kecoughtan (Hampton, VA). The Patriots record now stands at 5-12.

With the loss, Bethel falls to 9-5 on the campaign. The Bruins travel to Woodside (Newport News, VA) to battle the Wolverines in a Peninsula challenge on Saturday, May 14. The Wolverines enter the challenge with a record of 1-8.
