Hamilton County Foxes (McLeansboro, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Edwards County Lions (Albion, IL), 8-1 in a league challenge.

The Foxes now own a 18-9 record. They take the field next when they host Benton for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 11. Hamilton County will battle a Rangers squad coming off a 11-5 non-league loss to Pinckneyville (Pinckneyville, IL). The Rangers record now stands at 9-16.

With the loss, Edwards County moves to 14-10 on the season. The Lions travel to Flora (Flora, IL) to face the Wolves in a Black Diamond East match on Thursday, May 12. The Wolves go into the match with a record of 8-13. Flora lost 10-0 in their recent non-league match against Farina South Central (Farina, IL)
