Herscher Tigers (Herscher, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Manteno Panthers (Manteno, IL), 4-3 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 18-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Clifton Central for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 12. Herscher will battle a Comets squad coming off a 22-4 league win over St. Anne (St. Anne, IL). The Comets record now stands at 14-8.

With the loss, Manteno falls to 17-3 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Wilmington (Wilmington, IL) to battle the Wildcats in a Illinois Central Eight challenge on Thursday, May 12. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 9-9. Wilmington won 14-2 in their recent league challenge against Peotone (Peotone, IL)
