Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers (Joliet, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Saint Viator Lions (Arlington Heights, IL), 6-5 in a league challenge.

The Hilltoppers now own a 11-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Marian Catholic for a East Suburban Catholic challenge on Thursday, May 12. Joliet Catholic will face a Spartans squad coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to St. Laurence (Burbank, IL). The Spartans record now stands at 11-15.

With the loss, Saint Viator falls to 7-14 on the campaign. The Lions host Grayslake Central (Grayslake, IL) to face the Rams in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 13. The Rams enter the challenge with a record of 8-17. Grayslake Central won 5-1 in their recent league challenge against Lakes (Lake Villa, IL)
