Jefferson Forest Cavaliers (Forest, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Staunton River Golden Eagles (Moneta, VA), 7-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Cavaliers now own a 14-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rustburg for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 11.

With the loss, Staunton River falls to 10-4 on the campaign. The Golden eagles travel to Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA) to face the Cavaliers in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 12. The Cavaliers enter the challenge with a record of 4-14. Lord Botetourt lost 13-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Franklin County (Rocky Mount, VA)
