Forestville Central Hornets (Forestville, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Brocton Bulldogs (Brocton, NY), 8-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 7-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pine Valley Central for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 11. Forestville Central will battle a Panthers squad coming off a 9-3 league loss to Gowanda (Gowanda, NY). The Panthers record now stands at 3-9.

With the loss, Brocton falls to 1-8 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Silver Creek (Silver Creek, NY) to battle the Black Knights in a Chautaqua / Cattaragus I East challenge on Friday, May 12. The Black Knights enter the challenge with a record of 10-5. Silver Creek lost 3-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Randolph (Randolph, NY)
