Chelmsford Lions (North Chelmsford, MA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Lowell Red Raiders (Lowell, MA), 20-3 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Dracut for a Merrimack Valley - Conf 1 challenge on Friday, May 12. Chelmsford will battle a Middies squad coming off a 7-1 league loss to Methuen (Methuen, MA). The Middies record now stands at 1-6.

With the loss, Lowell falls to 4-8 on the campaign. The Red raiders travel to Billerica Memorial (Billerica, MA) to battle the Indians in a Merrimack Valley - Conf 2 challenge on Thursday, May 11. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 14-1. Billerica Memorial lost 9-2 in their recent league challenge against Central Catholic (Lawrence, MA)
