Wayland-Cohocton Eagles (Wayland, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Hornell Red Raiders (Hornell, NY), 3-2 in a league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 14-3 record. They take the field next when they host Dansville for a Livingston County Division I challenge on Thursday, May 11. Wayland-Cohocton will battle a Mustangs squad coming off a 7-6 non-league loss to Newark (Newark, NY). The Mustangs record now stands at 0-11.

With the loss, Hornell falls to 5-10 on the campaign. The Red raiders host Livonia (Livonia, NY) to battle the Bulldogs in a Livingston County Division I challenge on Thursday, May 11. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 2-11. Livonia lost 20-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Le Roy (Le Roy, NY)
